Eagle City Park is a 35 acre privately owned recreational gold panning / small scale mining park & campground located in the Coeur d'Alene National Forest at the old townsite of Eagle City in North Idaho.
Eagle City Park is 25 miles from Interstate 90 via the Coeur d'Alene River Road from Kingston, Idaho (Exit 43). The park is between Prichard and historic Murray, Idaho at 439 Eagle Creek Road, Wallace, ID 83873.
Eagle City was the site of the first "Gold Rush" to the Coeur d'Alene's and still holds the imagination of those who visit.
Eagle City Park promotes the hobby of recreational gold prospecting / small scale mining and is the home base of the NorthWest Gold Prospectors Association.
We have 2000 feet of gold bearing gravels in and along Eagle Creek. Access is easy as the site is mostly level.
Visitors and members can enjoy a wide range of activities including:
Gold Panning / Sluicing / Sniping / Metal Detecting / Outdoor Recreation / Relaxing
and Best of all "You Keep All The Gold You Find!"
The Park is mostly open daily from mid-May thru mid-September. For mid-week visits, please call ahead to make sure we are not in town shopping, etc. The numbers to call are 208-682-4661.
The fee is $20 per family per day for day use. Limited dry camping is available at $20 per family per night or $30 per family per weekend which includes Friday setup. For extended stays our fees are $100 per week and $300 per month. A gate card for ingress & egress during your stay will be given to visitors upon registering. Reservations are recommended for extended stays.
Special fees are available for organizations/clubs/companies or group outings. Kids groups (scouts, etc.) are always FREE. Please give us a call for details on how to treat your employees, clients, club/group members of out of town family/friends to this unique outdoor experience.
Gold pans, shovels, buckets, screens, vials, sluices, etc are available for an purchase or rent.
When visiting, please park to the LEFT as you pull into the Park. Proceed on foot to the visitor center, just past the gate. If closed, use the microphone on the left side of the front window to call Bob or the camp host. If available, someone will come out to meet you.
If not, please call 208-699-8128 or 208-682-4661. It is best to call these numbers ahead for visits during the week. We are a "Pack It In, Pack It Out" Park.

The following is a partial list of suggested Items to bring along with you on your visit to Eagle City Park. We have some items (pans, buckets, shovels, sluice box, high-banker, etc) in limited supply for purchase or rent. How hard and how much you want to work will determine how much of the list you will want to bring with you.
1. Shoes or boots that you can get wet in. Bring along dry socks and shoes for the trip home. If you bring kids, they will get wet. Bring extra clothes for them to change into.
2. Shovel
3. Gold Pan
4. Buckets (5 gal)
5. Screens (Classifiers)
6. Sluice Box
7. Old screw drivers, pry bars, rock picks, small paint brush, tweezers, etc to break up the bedrock and clean out the cracks.
8. Knee pads, gloves, wide brim hat, jacket, vials, snuffer bottle, sucker tube (hand dredge).
9. Metal detector, ATV, high-banker, pump, hoses, gasoline, oil,
10. On 75° plus days, bring lots of drinking water to keep hydrated. We sell 8 lbs bags of ice for $1.00.
11. Lunch / Snacks if you are planning to stay the day or you can go to one of many fine restaurants in the area.
12. Camera, Sunblock and FirstAid Kit
We have prospecting tools for sale and some available for use and/or rent.
Potable water, ice and ice cream is available at the store. We also have WiFi!
DRIVING DIRECTION:
Take I-90 east to the Kingston Exit (Exit 43). Turn left and go up the CDA River Road to Prichard Creek Road (just before mile marker 23). Turn right on Thompson Falls/Prichard Creek Road and go toward Murray 2.6 miles to Eagle Creek Road. Turn left on Eagle Creek road and go 1/2 mile. Eagle City Park is on the left at 439 Eagle Creek Road.
