Who we are!
We are the NorthWest Gold Prospectors Association, a non-profit gold prospecting club dedicated to promote the hobby of recreational gold prospecting and small scale mining.
We organized in February 1996 and are 450 members and 450 additional on our emailing list strong and growing by the month. We helped start a Clearwater Chapter in the Lewiston-Orofino Area. Please take time to review our Membership Application & our Standing Rules and Code of Ethics. We would like to WELCOME you as a new member.
We hold monthly meetings throughout the year on the second Thursday of the month and have outings the weekend following the meeting between May and September. We share knowledge and experience and have a great time in doing so. We have 12 gold claims that are open to the members and are actively pursuing the acquisition of additional claims. Some of our members open their personal claims to the membership.
Eagle City Park is available to club members for our monthly outings at no charge for day use. If you plan to camp during the outing, the reduced fee is $20 for families and individuals for the whole weekend, including Friday for setup.
The Park is also open to families and individuals during non-outing weekends. The fee is $20 per family per day or $30 for the weekend including Friday night setup. Weekly fee is $100 and monthly fee is $300.
Unless otherwise noted, the NorthWest Gold Prospectors meet at 7:00PM on the second Thursday of each month at the Hayden Eagles located at 1520 W Wyoming Ave, Hayden, ID just east of Ramsey Road & Wyoming Ave. Adult beverages are available and baked goods are donated by the members and are served at the meetings. Exciting and informative programs are presented by members and guest speakers.
The members bring and donate items for our raffles. Items range from a can of beans to gold nuggets. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Every person who signs in will be given a ticket for a surprise door prize drawing.
Outings are held at Eagle City Park the weekend following the monthly meetings between May and September unless otherwise announced at the meeting and in the Nugget News. A potluck dinner is held on Saturday afternoon at 4:00PM during the outing. Bring your table service, beverage and a dish or two. You do not have to participate in the outing to attend the potluck.
